# CCPIA Commercial Standards of Practice (ComSOP)

The CCPIA International Standards of Practice for Inspecting Commercial Properties, called ComSOP, define best practices and a reasonable approach for inspecting commercial properties through observation, research and reporting.

## Why it matters

ComSOP is the standard behind a commercial building inspection. It defines how inspectors observe, research and report, and it lists limitations and exclusions. Knowing which standard governs a report tells you what question the report was built to answer.
