# Federal Pacific Electric Panel (FPE)

A Federal Pacific Electric panel is an electrical panel with Stab-Lok circuit breakers that inspectors flag because of reported safety hazards, including breakers that may not trip as intended.

## Why it matters

Inspectors often recommend evaluation or replacement of FPE panels. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has published information about FPE Stab-Lok breakers and associated hazards. Replacement cost belongs in the capital plan.
