ADA Title III

ADA Title III is the part of the Americans with Disabilities Act that requires public accommodations and commercial facilities, such as stores, offices and restaurants, to be accessible to people with disabilities.

Why it matters

Title III sets obligations for existing buildings, new construction and alterations. Tenants and landlords may share responsibility under their lease. The U.S. Department of Justice enforces it, and private parties can also sue.
