NFPA 80

NFPA 80 is the standard for fire doors and other opening protectives, covering the installation and maintenance of assemblies that protect openings in walls, floors and ceilings against the spread of fire and smoke.

Why it matters

NFPA 80 requires fire doors to be inspected and tested after installation and then at least annually. Records of each inspection should be kept. Failed doors must be repaired by qualified personnel.
