Fire Door

A fire door is a door assembly, with its frame and hardware, that is rated to resist fire and limit the spread of smoke or flames through an opening in a rated wall.

Why it matters

Fire doors only work if they close, latch and seal as designed. Wedged-open doors, damaged hardware and painted-over labels are common failures. NFPA 80 calls for annual inspection and testing.
