Tilt-Up Construction

Tilt-up construction is a building method in which large concrete wall panels are cast on site, then lifted into position with a crane to form the building walls.

Why it matters

Tilt-up is common in warehouses and big-box retail. Inspectors review panel joints, connections, cracking, roof-to-wall ties and sealants. Older panels and joint failures can lead to water intrusion and structural repair costs.
